Day 8 - Christmas Day

Christmas Day and all is well in the world.  Convinced the children to sleep in till 7am, the sun doesn't actually come up till 7.20am so it was dark when we were woken up by three excited kids.  All dressed up in our ugly jumpers and present opened.  Luke, Chris and Emily went to Madison Square Garden at 11am for a midday NBA game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks.  Great experience by all accounts.  Pam and I went for a bit of a walk around the block for coffee and to stretch our legs.
The kids got back at about 3.30 and we sort of relaxed for a while, we had a dinner booked at Bryant Park Grill in Midtown NYC at 5pm.  Of course between the ten of us we were running late so got the subway downtown.
Lovely 3 course meal with all of us celebrating a wonderful Christmas Day.  Harley and Amanda caught the subway home with the children; Pam, Luke, Chris, Emily and I walked the long way home through all the Christmas lights in Times Square, Rockefeller Centre and 5th Avenue.  Millions of people on the streets.  Got home freezing cold at about 11pm.  Long day and looking for a nice warm bed.
Late night means the photos are a bit of a mess.... and there are plenty

  1. Hi I'm hoping I've finally worked out how to enter a comment! Christmas Day certainly looked amazing! Very different to us here. The weather was about 32 degrees, blue skies and swimming in the creek. Mind you, very jealous of where you are too as it looks so different but also really beautiful! Hard to believe how quickly the time is flying! Love Trish and Gary xxx
