Last day

Waking up on Monday morning - we walk the children to school and Luke went to the airport, he flys out at midday, we leave at about 5pm so we'll make our way to the airport about lunch time.  We all arrive in Brisbane at 6.05am on Wednesday.
A few tears this morning when we dropped the children at school, we will miss them terribly.  We did have a fabulous Christmas with all 10 of us in their little apartment - great time and unforgettable memories.  Not sure when we'll all be together again, might be a while.  Not many photos today, I did play around with a few last night, a bit like our greatest hits, enjoy them as much as we did!!!!

Day 20 - Intrepid

Last day and the one thing I wanted to do before we left was to visit the Intrepid aircraft carrier.  The Intrepid is an aircraft carrier which was commissioned in 1945 and decommissioned in 1974.  It was set up at a Sea, Air and Space Museum and the decks are full of planes and there is a decommissioned submarine (The Growler) moored permanently next to it.  There is a Concorde and the Space Shuttle Enterprise (housed in a shed at the back of the ship) also on board.
Very interesting seeing how the submariners lived in such cramped quarters for up to 70 days at a time.  Getting an idea of the scale of all these military ships and planes was a real eye opener and having a real life shuttle on board was amazing.
Had our last dinner out at the Meatball Shop down the road from home, very sad night!!!!
