Day 19 - Wedding anniversary, off to St.Patricks Cathedral

Sleep in this morning because of our late night at the theatre.  After we bribed the children on New Years Day with a diner breakfast on the weekend....all of a sudden it was the weekend and we had no option but to go out for breakfast - love these diner breakfasts with huge servings and endless coffee and loud, happy waiters and waitresses.  It's like something we have always watched on TV.  Luke hit the Met again then checked out Grand Central terminal, he was suitably impressed.
It was our anniversary today so I asked Pam what she wanted to do - go shopping all the way down 5th Avenue was the verdict.  What could I do, in and out of shops all afternoon, Saks was the highlight, 10 storeys of designer clothes, handbags, shoes and accessories.  Pam looked closely but couldn't find anything in her colour??  She found an 'Up to 70%' off rack, most were reduced from 2 or 3 thousand dollars down to to around the $1500 mark......still couldn't find the right style to suit.  Never mind, maybe next time?
We did visit St Patricks Cathedral on 5th Avenue.  Of course an amazing building, the photos obviously don't do justice to the grandeur of the structure and the wealth displayed inside.
In honour of our 39th wedding anniversary we decided a drink was in order, down the road to Grand Central Terminal, good news, happy hour - half price drinks and a packet of chips - living the NYC life!!!
Home for tea and an early night, our last day tomorrow so hope to have a big last day.

Breakfast with the lot

Someone looking pretty good after his haircut today?

Luke went back to the Met - big line up despite the weather

Worth it though - just one of the beautiful pieces on display.

Luke got the 'Black and White Cookie'!!!
