Day 16 - Museum of Natural History and Downtown

Kids off to school and Harley to work today, Amanda stayed home to catch up on a little house work.  Pam, Luke and I walked across Central Park to the Museum of Natural History it is a huge complex, actually consisting of 28 interconnected buildings with 45 permanent exhibition halls and 33 millions specimens.  As you can imagine we didn't get to see all it had to offer!!
There are some amazing exhibits with the dinosaurs and sea life ones being the ones I was most interested in.  You could be there for 3 days and still not see everything in every room.  We got there just after opening time, had lunch there and then Pam and I left Luke to explore further and we went Downtown to check out the shops, including a 3 storey M&M shop and a 2 storey Barnes and Noble book shop.  Got home about 4.30 with donuts for the children.  I was the navigator home on the subway - after a couple of hiccups Pam tells me she'll be chief navigator in all future excursions.
Luke arrived back at about 5.30 after spending all day at the museum.  Time for a beer and planning for tomorrow.

The old favourite - TRex

Giant ancient sea life

A Titanosaurus - 35 metres long, couldn't fit in one room!!
