Day 5 - Cycling, Chris and Emily arrive

Planned a slow day today, Amanda and Pam had booked themselves a hairdresser appointment so that was their day gone till they got home and cooked tea.  Harley planned to get some washing done, Luke had a day filled with culture, I planned to have a leisurely walk around Central Park, have a quiet coffee and relax.
Most plans came to fruition, except mine.   When I told the kids I was going for a walk around the park they declined an offer to come with me, they said they'd go if we could hire bikes and ride around.  Consider it done!!
Felicity declined the bike ride but the boys and I had a fantastic day, walked down to the end of the park and hired 3 bikes.  Made it all the way around without incident.  It was pretty cold on the hands because we all forgot to wear gloves but we had a great day, it took about 2 hours to get all the way around with plenty of stops for photos and breaks.  Surprisingly there are a few hills along the way which tested us.  Had a late lunch and got home at 3pm, just in time for Pam and I to get get the train to the airport to greet Chris and Emily.
Huge reunion when we all got together, we are a very lucky family (not so sure about the neighbours though??).  Plenty of laughs tonight and many more to come.  Harley and Amanda bought us all an ugly Christmas shirts - may they never see the light of day again!!!!  Until Christmas Day of course.

The boys are off

Worn out and running late - time for a yellow taxi.
